Hello there

I currently got a few BSOD Issues on my PC. To help restrict the area of causes, this is what happened:

I got BSODs from time to time since roughly one year. They happened say every 2 weeks, 90% of them when i was playing video games (counter strike global offensive). I never took any notes of the error codes because they occured not too often and didn't bother me too much. Sometimes instead of a BSOD the audio and video would freeze and the PC didn't register any mouse or keyboard input -> reboot button on the front. This happend only while playing video games.

Two days a go i started the PC again my PC got a BSOD/froze 4 times in a row - in a time span of 15 minutes. 2 times while still on the desktop, 2 time while starting the game.

I figured, since it was almost always related to the video game, updating the graphics driver might help. I got a Geforce 8800 GTS and had the 331.65 driver version installed. Since it was outdated for almost a year i uninstalled it and started downloading the current version - 340.52. I started installing it, but windows' auto-driver-installer or smth. like that already kicked in and installed Version 334.89 - an older version.

I though, if I install a driver, i install the newest driver. So i rebooted the PC without a problem, took out the net cable, unistalled 334.89 and installed 340.52. Some parts of the software NVIDIA tried to install failed, but the driver was installed.

-------------------------------------------------------
I rebooted my PC ever since i got a BSOD right after the Windows logo.
It started off with 0x000000C5(0x00001A18, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x8412B4C1)

I started in safe mode and unistalled the driver. Still a BSOD after reboot: 0xC0000005(???)
I also tried reinstalling all the other driver versions mentioned above, still a BSOD. Currently i got no NVIDIA driver installed and always get 0x0000007E(0xC0000005, ???)

I hope with this and the files attached, somebody is able to help me :)
Greetings, Elias

wankoelias, all of your dump files are blaming the same thing. Superantispyware. I notice the driver is 4 years old. I use it myself and have no problems with it, so it culd be the driver needs updating or that it is the victim rather than the cause. For right now, I would suggest uninstalling it and see if it is the cause of your problems. You can always install a newer version later, if it is not the cause.

Code:
 lmvm SASKUTIL

Next, download the driver you want to install from http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/602-latest-nvidia-forceware-video-drivers-windows-7-a.html and use this method to install it. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/327414-nvidia-drivers-avoid-problems.html That will give you the cleanest install we can and not install things that are not needed. Try that and let us know how it works.

Thanks for the quick response!

Well, i uninstalled Superantispyware with the "SUPERAntiSpyware Uninstaller Assistant (32-Bit)" and after a few seconds i was asked to reboot.
Now, after the Windows Logo at the start, the screen stayed black for about 3 seconds, then the system rebooted and launched the system recovery mode - just like before with the BSOD, except no BSOD...

I rebooted one more time normally and got the same result. I also checked in software list in safe mode and SUPERAntiSpyware was gone. Then I installed the latest NVIDIA driver according to your instructions and still the same result.

Any other suggestions what the cause can be? Do you need more dump/log files?

Btw, I cant get into safe mode with F8 because of my keyboard I think. I always have to wait out the system startup repair for a few minutes and change the bootoptions in bcdedit. Is there a way that system recovery doesnt start system repair and i can open the command shell sooner?

DAEMON Tools Virtual Bus Driver. If you have Dameon Tools installed uninstall it. It is a known Cause of BSODs.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause of BSOD's.

1. Uninstall Daemon Tools.
2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
- Double click the executable to open it
- Click the button shown below

If the button it is grayed out, as shown in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can just close the window.

Something isn't matching up.

This is what Dxdiag reports:

Now his specs say Windows 7 Enterprise.

I did what you suggested and unistalled and DT started SPTD standalone. I was asked for a reboot before i got to uinstall, so I rebooted - without safe mode....D:

The result changed once again: Now I stay for about 20 seconds on the windows logo, then the screen turns off (power lamp goes on and off as if the sceen got no signal). After half a minute I get to the normal login screen where im asked for the password.

So i log in. Windows starts loading up the desktop, but before it even gets there I get a BSOD. Unfortunately it just flashes then I get a reboot so I cant tell what the error code is.
I also tried just waiting on the login screen. After the same time as if I logged in I get the same flashing BSOD...

The critical thing now is: Since the PC wont register all keystrokes while starting up im UNABLE TO GET INTO SAVE MODE. Unless anybody here has a better Idea, I think ill have to get a PS2 keyboard from somewhere...

Any USB keyboard should work. Shut completely down. On startup start tapping F8 as soon as you see the computer starting, don't wait for the manufacturers logo, start tapping before that. I have that issue too with an Asus Mobo. In Asus infinite wisdom, they decided to make F8 the one time boot menu key. So, to get into safe mode I have to start from a cold boot and immediately start tapping F8. It works fine. If I wait for the Asus ROG logo, I'll get the one time boot menu. Try that and see if you have any luck.

No, unfortunately not. Before being in Windows i get reactions on certain screens and on others i don't. For example im able to open the BIOS menu but in the boot menu the keyboard is dead. Same thing with the menu for the safe boot.
As of right now I always get the dialog: chose safe mode or the system will boot normaly after 30 seconds. Normaly you'd just choose safe boot with your arrow keys, but my keyboard just acts as if it isn't plugged in (even lights on the keyboard are turned off)

I ran into problems a few years ago and finally borrowed a PS/2 keyboard from a friend - F8 worked just fine...

I noticed the keyboard problem right when i bought it, so i don't think its damaged. just some weird issue - maybe because its a gaming keyboard - i guess.

I don't know. I have a Ligitecg G510 and it will work as a normal USB keyboard ubtil the OS loads, which is when the Logitech drivers load. Before that it works fine. So, I really don't know. The USB slots are supposed to work any time. Did you install all of your motherboard drivers from Gigabyte's web site?

Also, where did you get your copy of Windows 7 Enterprise You also have X84, it should either be X86 or X64. Which is it?

Oh... that was a typo, sorry if I got you confused its x86. I'll correct that.

I installed the driver with the CD that came with the motherboard i think. I got the PC about 8 years ago... could also be that i downloaded them but less likely

It appears you are going to need a clean install. Download your motherboard drivers first and put them on a USB drive or a CD. Be sure that you select only the X86 drivers and X86 version of any programs you install. X64 bit programs will not run with an X86 OS. The same with your graphics drivers.

Windows 7 Professional 32-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.140303-2144)

32-bit = x86 (From the old 386,486, etc architecture.)

64-bit = x64 (Named after AMD64 instruction set.)

Be sure not to confuse the two when selecting drivers and/or software. A 32-bit OS can not run 64-bit drivers or software.

wankoelias, I take it you have not done a clean install. If I read your files correctly, you have not done one in quite a few years. Please read Carwiz post above. You will have to run 32 bit (X86) drivers and programs. Your OS will not run X64 programs. Please download the appropriate drivers from your motherboard's web site and do a clean install. This will help http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html

Ok.. I don't know why you two keep telling me this.. but i know I cant install 64 Bit sotware on a 32 Bit OS. Did I try this at some point or is there any 64 Bit software installed?

For me reinstalling windows is the last option because all my installed software gets unusable, but if youre telling me its my only option then ill do it.
One other thing is keeping me from reinstalling windows: gigabyte has no driver available for download... do you know if there is a alternative download site i can rely on?
