I bought this Computer from a pawn shop and no matter what I do I can't get rid of the "PawnAmerica" name as my user profile I changed all the permissions and it still won't allow me to edit the name as you can see by the picture by the dull grey tone of the file name and the little padlock on the file

Well, you can just create a new administrator account. I think this will bypass you your problem.

Are you trying to edit the name of the account by right clicking on this folder and renaming it?

If Yes, then you are doing it wrong, just go the the Control Panel and open up User Accounts, click on the account name you are currently using and change the name.

The only option is, since it's been setup by the pawn shop is to reformat and start from scratch. This way you can input what name you like as the owner.

Does the laptop still have the system partition where the OS is stored, generally with retail PC's it the D: driver and around 10 plus gigs?

Check with Dell's website for support on how to do exactly that. You will need your TAG number.

Support Bassfisher and Juice. A new PC with no previous history for you would be best formatted and re-installed. Then it is all yours.

One thing to do in certain circumstances is to get ownership of folders\files. Win7 will do this, or download Takeownership.exe, do the simple install and it will appear on your Windows Explorer Rt-mouse menus as a menu option. Gives you, the user, admin rights, assuming you are admin. Be prepared to wait if doing large folders!
