So i have a laptop and an external hard drive. my previous laptop had hardware failure, so i got this one with a clean install, and majority of my files on it. i'm missing some images that i had backed up on my external harddrive, but when i tried to access it today i got this.
"Windows Photo Viewer can't open this picture because you don't have the correct permissions to access the file location"
i tried taking ownership of the harddrive and the files, to no avail. the odd thing is it's only one file of pictures i cannot access, everything else seems to be working fine. so i'm not sure what to do. the previous laptop was windows 7 and that's what my current laptop is.
external harddrive is a Seagate 500 GB.
any help would be appreciated! i'd really like to get these files back for use.
