permissions to child Objects

Hi!
I have a windows 7 pc. I am using it as a media server to stream to my HTPC (windows XP Pro) in my living room. My problem is that I'm having problems with permissions of my folders. All of my media is on a seperate hard drive (F and everything I am sharing is in folders inside a subdirectory of this F drive (F:/Snoogans/movies, F:/Snoogans/TV Shows, F:/Snoogans/New). I have the directory (F:/Snoogans/) set up as a shared folder on my network with full premission to everyone. I have set it so that it gives the same permissions to all child objects. However, if I ad any files or folders to the subdirectories (perticularly the folder for new downloads) I can not see any files or folders that have been added from the network. To see them, I have to go in to my permissions and update them every time. Once I have done that I can see all of the files again. Any ideas of what I can do to solve this?

Although it's less secure you can allow for access to the entire drive by everyone in your network by right clicking on the drive and choosing "Properties" then click on the "Sharing tab", then click on the "Advanced Sharing" tab.

Put a check mark where it shows to share the entire drive then choose the "Permissions" button and put a check mark for full control, Everyone will have full access to the entire drive. Be sure and click the "Apply" button at the end.

I have tried making the entire F: drive shared and I have had the same result. I unshared the drive after as I don't really want to have everything on the drive available on the network. But even with the entire drive set to share for everyone, I am not able to see any of my new files unless I go back in to F:/Snoogans and going into the "Properties" "Security" "Advanced Security" "Permissions" "Change Permissions" and selecting EVERYBODY and (which already has full control for this folder, subfolders and files) and selecting "replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object" which is unchecked every thime I open this window. It then changes all of the permissions and I can see all of the new files.
However, if I then add any more new files, THOSE files are not seen on the network until I repeat the same procedure again.

For that I believe you have to put a check mark at "enable inheritance" of the child objects for this folder. I'm not sure why it's not staying checked.

Part of the problem is that you are using subdirectory's so it might work best using the built in media sharing files for this.

Still not able to resolve this problem. Does "Auditing" have anything to do with it? Is there anything I can post to help resolve this issue?
