personalization of background

I have a new computer with windows 7 and initally set the background to the slideshow; however, it has just stopped working and I am unable to fix it. All it shows on my wallpaper is one picture and when I try to fix it, it always defaults back to my "Unsaved Themes". Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?
