Philips Flat Screen drops out when powered on
Hello,
I have a 22" monitor on my VGA port and a flat screen TV on my HDMI port with ATI 3200 HD embedded video. This has been flawless until I upgraded my flat screen from a 720p to a 1080p. With the TV's power off Windows 7 detects it as soon as the HDMI cable is plugged it. Power the monitor on and it drops out of awareness. Power it back off and disconnect re-connect the HDMI and there it is again. Power it back on and it's gone again.
I've fully uninstalled re-downloaded reinstalled the absolutely latest drivers.
Thanks
Jeff

Thanks for responding, my on board video has direct HDMI out. Not using DVI-HDMI converter.
Update, been thinking about upgrading video anyway so just installed a new Radeon HD 4350 card. This card also has direct HDMI out. Installed the latest 10.4 ATI Suite and the exact same thing is happening. With the TV off it shows up in both windows display settings and ATI control center. Power on the TV and it disappears. Greatest vanishing act i've ever seen.
I'm curious if windows is "Remembering" the old TV?
Thanks
Jeff
If your TV has an RGB port I would use a DVI to RGB converter, I tried direct HDMI to my Vizio 37" and it did what you posted. Going back to the manual and found Vizio stated the RGB port is meant for direct PC support in 1080 so I plugged the DVI to RGB converter on and grabbed an RGB cable I had and voila runs perfectly.
