Solved Photo Gallery editing problem.

Me again!
Just noticed that when all my photos come up instead of the one I want to edit [in the editing box],
the "my pictures" "my videos" is highlighted.
Cannot get rid of the highlighted text.

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
You should see a small triangle on the left side of the "my" listings if no it will appear if you point your mouse pointer on top of either "my" listing,
Then click on a single folder inside either "my" folder it should now deselect the other,
I believe the default is show all pictures and videos when you open an image like that in photo gallery,
You can also right click either and click on select without sub folders,

problem with editing in photo gallery

Thanks for reply.
I am sure you are right but I still have problems. probably my age.
So. boiling cabbages twice:
I click on F drive where my photos are.
I click on a folder with a photo I want.
Say about 10 photos show.
I click on the one I want.
All the folder photos show. [In another box with twitter Facebook, tag this, tag that, etc. have not noticed before].
Anyway I click the required photo again and it then opens in the required editing box.
It seems to be working but a couple of days ago I did not get the Facebook twitter section. [looks like editing box without the tools!]
Sorry if I appear dumb but is frustrating when you press the wrong button and a different sequence of events occurs!

Hi,
Yep the navigation pane or left column listing can be expanded just by clicking on the small triangle symbols
Once you see a folder you want to see the images click on it and just those images will be displayed,

I personally wouldn't worry about the tweeter.... listings
If you have an account with either of these social networking sites simply use that sites upload features if you want to post an image,

The other part where you describe looking for an image on F drive.. sounds like your using windows explorer and not windows photo gallery to go to where the images are,
That will always open a file/ image in a minimal photo viewer which photo gallery has one of those and it does confuse people because once you want to edit... you can't
It then opens in the full editor photo gallery with All photos and videos selected as you first describe,
This is frustratingly normal behavior unfortunately

I would suggest opening photo gallery then look for the files in it then all of the tool options are already there and available without trying to find the file again in all of the clutter,

But one small trick is when it does open the full editor simply hit the Enter key and see if the file you first opened appears in the editor,
