pic viewer issue

can anyone help with viewing my pics on pc, running windows 7, its a 64 bit laptop and the built in picture viewer has now decided some of my pics folders ect not compatible, all i can see is blank thumbnails, downloaded other pic software still wont open, just says format not supported, not affected all my pics yet all same format all pics used to open now wont

most of pics are in jpeg, some pics were taken in the raw format on camera but almost sure they are in jpeg now

I guess I'm not much help then. I was going to suggest getting irfanview, but there's no reason I can think of that Windows wouldn't be able to open jpegs any better.

If the properties attributes are set at hidden they will not show,
Check the properties on the general section.

looked to see if hidden they are not, just cantget my head round this issue at all, seems very odd

A hidden file will not appear in the explorer, so you will not be able to see any thumbnails at all (if the show hidden files and folders option is not enabled).

First, you may try a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html of an earlier date .

Then, scan your PC using Malwarebytes.

If you want, you may upload a few of those images for tasting and understanding the actual situation.

You cannot upload a thumbnail. Zip a file and upload the zip .

Very odd ..... that is what I see


I have tried to open it in XP and Ubuntu too .... with all the possible program, but the result is the same . The file is corrupted :sarc: It fails to get all the needed information (header info) from he file.

Have you performed a cut/paste operation recently that was incomplete ?

think I will just have to except that the pics have gone, ive not done anything that im aware of with these files and folders, all i know is they were all ok and now there not, all very odd, I did pick up a virus according to a scan I did sometime ago, norton cleaned it for me, weather that some how corrupted my laptop dont know, not happy to say the least, thanks for trying anyway

Does this happen with every picture? Does it happen with any new pictures that are placed onto your computer?

Try a System File checker to ensure the OS is not corrupted

Also use MalwareBytes AND SuperAntiSpyware, up date, full scans with each. Link are in my sig. Trying MSE might help too, if you disable Norton temporarily.
I also can see the bird pic, not the other one. I see a full pic too.
