I've got an interesting issue. I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise (x64) SP1. I'm using Windows Explorer to preview a jpeg file (any picture file will do) on a Win 2008 file server. In the preview pane, you rotate the picture either direction twice then the file attribute will change to hidden. I have confirmed this on multiple computer platforms running the same OS. Any picture file will do. On the local machine the problem does not occur. This only happens to files that reside on a file server.
The file server uses Symatec antivirus. The local Machines use McAfee v. 4.8.0.1500. HIPS 7.0.0.1254
Any ideas?

Thanks ThrashZone but the issue isn't with local files but rather with files that reside on a network file server. The files do not toggle the attribute bit to hidden on the local machine. Only on the server which is not runnning McAfee. If it were the instance of McAfee loaded on the local machine causing the problem, it would affect the files on the local machine (which it does not).
The file on the server is toggled to hidden only when viewing the file in windows Explorer Preview pane. It does not change to hidden if the file is opened and then rotated. Only when viewed via the Windows Explorer preview pane and only files that reside on a network server. Viewing and manipulating local files in that fashion does not change the attribute on the local file to hidden.
I forgot to add that we tested by removing McAfee from a local machine temporarily to see if McAfee was causing the problem. The problem still occured with McAfee removed.
