Picture files duplicating

My Sony Vaio with windows 7 is driving me to distraction - when I copy picture files into My Pictures from my camera memory card or a USB drive, the pictures copy in as expected . . . but then create folders with the same name as the picture file, with two copies of the picture in the folder. The icons appear faint - as if the folders are hidden folders. This takes hours (literally) to fix, as the duplicated folders keep reappearing as I delete them. Why does this happen - and what can I do to stop it?

That's a glitch I have seeen before - no idea why. I suggest you open your SD card folder and copy the pictures manually. Then you avoid the problem.-
