What are some good free photo editing programs in your opinion. I have Picasa right now for general photo editing, Paint.NET for more advanced, as well as GIMP, but I would like one more.

AS far as free software goes, the 3 you have listed would be/and are my personal choices.

Beyond that, I think youd have to move to paid software to gain any real benefits.

Along with those three, I use IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide for viewing and simple things like cropping, and for resizing, I use the native Microsoft tool from CodePlex: Image Resizer Powertoy Clone for Windows

There is also another one similar in fashion to it from another Microsoft Programmer: Cum Grano Salis : Image Resizer for Vista (and XP) - Just a right click away from Explorer.

That's the only one that I use anymore. Does everything I need it to...and simply. Just wish it was available in Linux...so I could use the same app on both platforms. I usually just use Gimp on a Linux box...since it's usually installed by most distros by default.

The only downsides of GIMP is that it takes a while to learn, as well as taking some time to load. =/

Slightly off topic as this is not free but Adobe Elements 6 is still available as a boxed cd very cheaply (about 30 British Pounds so US Dollars about 45) This will do all you need and more. It is very fast on Win 7. It has more filters than you can shake a stick at and will handle RAW formats with ease. I have introduced at least five people to this version and they are all still using it after a couple of years.
Very good value for money (IMHO of course) Everyone has their favorite!
