When watching mkv and avi videos via Vlan or KMPlayer there is a noticeable tearing of the picture occasionally. Lowering the refresh rate on my Samsung Syncmaster SB370 from 60 to 50 Hz seems to help but still present. Running at native 1080p, HDMI via a GTX 660 Ti card. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas? Thanks.

Tried another media player? VLC perhaps.

Vlan = VLC, yup current version, just need to pin down the lag which seems to be causing the tearing. Nothing too CPU intensive running in the background.

You might try Uninstalling vlc and shut down your machine and re-install on restart ?
Some times I found vlc does not receive updates well.
