I have pinned Explorer to the start menu. If I right click, a list of folders appears. If I click the "Pin to this list" icon next to a folder, it stays pinned to that list.

How do I add a folder to that list so that I can click the "Pin to this list" icon for it?

Thanks.

Hello User,

You could do this by opening the folder in Windows Explorer, then right click on the Windows Explorer icon on the taskbar. You should then see the folder in the Jump List to be able pin it in the jump list of Windows Explorer.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Just open the folder and then any file in the folder once. Then it should be added to the Recent folders jumplist.

No luck.

I looked for two jump lists: one on the Explorer icon pinned to the task bar, and one on the the Start menu. The one on the icon did not have the folder I opened. The Start menu does not have Windows Explorer in it.

You have to open a file within the folder - any file. Else it will not show in the jumplist.

You have to open a file within the folder - any file. Else it will not show in the jumplist.

There were no files in that folder. It only has subdirectories.
I tried opening desktop.ini, but the Lectures still didn't appear in the jump list.
I created a file New Text Document.txt and double clicked it, but Lectures still didn't appear in the jump list.

Finally, I opened the start menu, I typed C:\Users\Jeffrey\Documents\Lectures\New Text Document.txt <Enter>. Only then did Lectures appear the task bar's icon's jump list (Explorer never appeared on the Start Menu.

Whew! Thanks for your help.
