Ping request cannot find host by name

Hi, I got this issue today after rebooting my computer (just because it hasnt been rebooted for weeks now). I am able to ping using address, but cannot use host names, including localhost. That applies to physical (home) network, VMnet's and VPN (work) networks. Also, Im able to connect to the VPN, even though the network Im connecting to is resolved by name I think. :sarc: All my virtual devices are properly listed in the hosts config file.

flushdns did not help.

Any thoughts?

Also, I already tried enabling/disabling all adapters, rebooting again, and changing ip address to static and back to dynamic.
