Hi I created two partitions on my machine, there is C: and D: When I try and install a program, (google earth) onto the D: Partition, the programe forces to place it on the C: Drive - does it have to be there? I thought that by choosing the D Drive on the setup it would place it there but it seems to only want to go to C, is there a reason for this? Thanks!

Get into the habit of always doing a "custom" installation of software (so you can see what it's actually installing), if the installer program allows for it, and also don't just binldy click "next" all the time. That way, when you get to the part of the installer where it says where it is going to install to (the default is usually "C:\Programs Files x86" or "C:\Program Files"), you can easily change the destination path.

Thanks for that. Once installed on C how do you go about changing the directory path? Sorry if a basic question!!!

If the program is already installed then you will need to uninstall it and then reinstall on the correct path
