Solved Playing a Quicktime Video

My son sent me a video clip that says it's a Quicktime Video and it's from an iPhone. All I get is audio no matter what program or codec I download. I have even tried downloading Quicktime, but nothing works. I tried uploading the file and got a message saying a security token was missing (?).

Quicktime has been around a long time, and there should be a Windows format version of the player, (later Windows Versions include native support), but I prefer two alternatives, both of which are free and work with Windows 7

QuickTime Alternative 3.2.2 Download - TechSpot is a free version of the original apple code and should allow you to playback the video on your own player.

I'll give them a try. Since I wasn't able to attach the file in question, is there a possibility there's something wrong with the file (s)? There are two and I got the same results from them both. Thanks.

OK, I installed the Quicktime Alternative and when I double click on the clip I want to view, it wants to use Windows Media Player and now Media Player doesn't want to work. I don't even get the audio I had before. What did I do wrong or what do I have to do to get it to work since it seems programs are competing with each other. I don't want to mess up Media Player as I use it a lot.

Apple have a habit of changing their "standards" mostly just so they can patent them and charge all their customers to access them.

All I can suggest is to Try VLC as it's fully supported and up to date
