Playing Chess Titans... Computer cheats in its own game!

I am pretty sure most people have played the games that come pre-installed with Windows 7. Well I was playing Chess Titan and I had noticed that the computer had made a move that was not possible! I was all like, I had no clue what was going on! The computer was cheating at its own game! Here is a video if you want to see it for yourself.

ARGHH! Here is another example of the game cheating! I got the opponents king in check mate and guess what happened. The game called it a DRAW!!! This is the same game from the last post. You can see the what I mean in the RAR file below.

Well, I have played a few more games... *sigh* I do not know how to win Chess Titans. Every game I have played ends in a draw. I have told it to undo my last move and I tried a different way to try to win... Now I tried four solutions my last game and all for a draw each time. This game is rigged. Do you guys know why it does this?!

Of course it's rigged, the house never loses! Seriously though....

Look over this google search: Why does chess titans cheat? Make sure you know the rules: chess rules, see this one for common gripes.

There are cases in those search results that document? other spurious behaviour, like not allowing enough spaces and/or time to complete a move before the computer would call a draw.

I haven't played chess in a long time, but it wouldn't hurt to see what chess titans does on my machine. I'll get back to ya'

The game has not cheated in either instances, Daxiel.

The first video demonstrates a move called castling, where a player may decide to send his king to the opposite side of rook as it approaches the immediate side of a king’s square. A player cannot castle when they are in check. Castling also may not occur if an opponent’s attack path intersects with the square the king must pass through, i.e., the square that is the final position of the rook.

Furthermore, the game has ended as expected in the second video, because you do not actually demonstrate a checkmate here like you say. If a side has no legal move, but is not in check, a stalemate has occurred. Contrary to what you may think, by the rules of chess, this is strictly a draw and there is no winner. Hence, even when you are in the clear winning position you must still play your moves carefully to avoid stalemate.

Here’s what you should have done. Instead of moving your king, move the queen one position forward from F6 to F7. This will force the opponent’s king to the corner (H8). At this point, the queen should be moved to the far right, H7, causing a checkmate and ending the game.

The rules and methods that Pyprohly has posted is correct.

Daxiel I would and am suggesting buy a book on the rules of chess. I haven't bought one in decades but they got to be under $10.00.

Once you know and understand the rules I have a little suggestion that helps me.

When I play chess on my computer I set up a big board beside me with big pieces.
For me my 3 brain cells work better when playing chess looking down at the board instead of a vertical monitor.
I don't know why that is.

Jack, this may explain why your perception is better horizontally than vertically:

So I'm not the only one that has noticed this happening.
I didn't know their had ever been a study on such a subject.

If it matters, I have also noticed that viewing down at the board at about a 45 deg. angle helps view the travel path of a piece. This helps me not to move to a square that is protected by one of opponents pieces unless that is my desire.

I can not be the only person that has figured out the best way for them to view a chess board.
Many years ago I played a lot of chess.

For better or worse one can find a study on any human condition, To be able to view the board like you do shows a high level of Spatial-temporal reasoning.

I like your idea of having a separate board to physically see the moves and placement of the pieces. I favor a 30 to 60° horizontal viewing angle. I started years ago on the school's playground and have seen many different ways to look at a board.
