Playing games, computer shuts off

I was playing for a few hours Skyrim and my computer turned off automatically no power but my mouse lights were on.
I booted the computer and it worked fine.

But now few days had passed, I was playing left for dead 2 and in the middle of the game my computer shuts off automatically.
I tried restarting it by unplugging my psu wire, booted up but it hangs on startup.

AND I can't get into windows anymore

1. Computer turns off in middle of game, could be PSU problem.

2. While booting, two options are provided; Repair windows ( recommended ) or Start windows normally. I choose option 1 but goes back to startup then option 2 goes back to startup.

I tried everything from going to safemode, restoring, safe mode with command prompt, changing configuration on BIOS, reseting bios and unplugging rams and graphics card. And it still goes back to startup.
I believe its a graphics card problem?

And one time I got a blue screen saying that its an unsolvable problem and its due to a hardware problem.

my specs;
Windows 7
AMD Phenom II x 4
Msi 790 xt motherboard
4 gigs A-Data
Nvidia Geforce 250 gts graphics card evga
Psu tx 750 Watt Corsair

what are your (temps) like well playing the games? it maybe your cpu is getting to hot and turning off your system so it don't damage it. how old is the system and when was the last time you opened it and cleaned it out?

I haven't cleaned it out for a while, well I cleaned it after the incident happened.

My system is a year old now.

My CPU never over heats I checked the temp its always in between 40's mid 40's and 50.

I did made a few adjustments to my graphics card, overclocked it, but to a tiny significant amount.

I did had this problem before I solved it by replacing my PSU to a corsair 750 Watt like 5 months ago. ( bit my psu is still working fine after the incident happened)

My computer tends to accumulate dust in a medium period.

maybe my computers broken due to a short circuit due to my PSU failing. But the 750 Watt corsair would've sufficed according to my specs.

My conclusion could be my graphics card? well probably short circuited something but I don't know which hardware.

when playing the game the temps are only mid 40's ? what software are you using to view the temps?
also if you can please fill in your (specs) it may help others to help you.did you try removing your o/c on your
graphics card to see if that helps?

Well I never had heat problems before. Nothing is overclocked except for my graphics card but I tweaked it a tiny bit.
But ill try removing the oc from the graphics card.

I can't get into Windows because Windows doesn't load on startup and it just goes back to booting again. I've tried running system restore, windows 7 CD restore and all the safe mode options and it still takes me back to the Windows startup but no logo appears.

I can get into BIOS and stay in BIOS without having any problems

I can only get into windows when my computer is off for long hours and then I turn it on I can access windows and while I'm in windows for for 3 minutes, my computer screen just turns off but my computer is still running.

And then it just goes to back to startup again and I can't access windows from there.

try unpluging your system then open the case and look around make sure all the cables are connected right. maybe unplug the the one comming from the psu to your motherboard and then repluging it back it.
other then that i'm not sure what else to try. maybe wait for others to post with more help.

Thanks I'm going to do that when I get back home. Then ill update everyone.

Alright so I unplugged / reconnected the psu connection to the motherboard. No good.

I also did the ram test. I took out all the rams and the motherboard did not beep or make any noise. So I'm assuming that its a motherboard problem.

My conclusion is the motherboard. Well I'm going have to pay a visit to a computer technician. Until then I'll be sure to update you guys. Please feel free to post any solutions and advices, will be appreciated.

I called the computer tech, and we found out it was the motherboard. I think what happened was my psu's fan stopped running and then short circuited the motherboard. Addition to that lots of dust were accumulated in the fans, CPU fan and the entire component. Now my remedy was replacing the power supply to 850, and switching over to Intel lol. now I'm just waiting for my parts to come in the mail.
