Does anyone here have experience with playing PS2 games via the PCSX2 emulator? I would like to play some DQ VIII, and I plan to play it via my 360 controller.
Is this possible? I did a quick Youtube search, but didn't find any videos of people playing the emulator with a 360 controller. Hopefully it's possible, I think Xpadder (or something like that) may help me. :sarc:

The Xbox 360 uses XInput as oppose to DirectInput found on most PC gamepads.

I think most emulators recognize only DirectInput gamepads. There are programs that map XInput to DirectInput but not worth the time and effort IMO, cause it could case problems with Windows 7 especially with 64-bit since it installs non-proprietary (unsigned, not 64-bit compatible) drivers to work.

Get a PC controller like this:

Precision

Works with all old school emulators and great for PC fighting games like SFIV.
