Please Help Computer Crashing

Greetings I have a custom built pc that was put together by a friend of mine who no longer lives near me. This makes it very difficult for me to find assistance in all computer related issues. This last issue has by far been the most confusing problem to date. I recently upgraded my computer to windows 7 64 bit and have been playing computer games through steam pretty much issue free. Then recently I installed battlefield bad company 2 off of steam and upon running it, it forced me to download something called "Microsoft C++ 2005" and update my drivers. As soon as this file installed my screen resolution tweaked out and caused my computer to crash. Now it keeps booting in with a distorted screen and takes me to the blue screen of death where it crashes again. I can't boot into safemode either my keyboard won't let me scroll up. Please any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You may want to perform a system restore until we get this figured out.

Ok, well after continuously restarting about 15 times the computer fixed itself and I am now happy to say I am able to use this computer. However this issue has been a recurring one and I am unsure I'm brave enough to retry battlefield bad company 2 until I have the issue figured out. Looks like your ATI drivers are causing the problem. I suggest updating them.

I definitely just updated my ati drivers (at least i believe i did) and unfortunately the same error just happened after about 4 hours of use. any suggestions?

Try uninstalling the drivers completely from Device Manager, reboot, and let Windows automatically install drivers.
