What virus scanner? If it's not Microsoft Security Essentials then it's detecting something that was left by MSE in C:\ProgramData\application data\microsoft\microsoft antimalware\scans\filesstash\

Do you have MSE installed alongside another antimalware program?

So ESET detects something in that MSE folder right? I'd say that's normal and nothing to worry about. Just set ESET to exclude that folder's location.

It looks like you are correct. You cannot simply stop the service. You don't need to delete the log as it's just a log and not malware.

The problem is that you've got multiple AV's and ESET of those detects a false positive detection in the MSE log.

If you want multiple AV's have one with real time protection and make sure that others only ever run scans on demand and do not offer realtime protection.

If you really want to remove that log you can uninstall MSE.
