Hi all.. sorry about the uppercase title but Im desperate.. I have a sony vaio windows 7, since Im 20 and my mom wanted to use my laptop at times I HAD to make her an independent account and manage my sharing and security settings, so I denied her account all permissions etc.. but now I cant download files, from the internet, access ''C'' hard drive ''C: is not accessible. ACCESS IS DENIED'' access softwares such as photo editor.. Ive never had this problem.. and when I go to control panel.. I go to ''C'' properties ''Network and sharing center'' It'll let me return to original settings and remove password protected files but when I click on save changes it doesnt do anything.. much like when I try to execute files. HELP!!

IMO, I would restore back to the date before Mom used it.
Make sure you buy her a box of chocolates and an inexpensive laptop! IMHO

Boot into Safe Mode, go to Control Panel. Backup and Restore> choose Recover System settings on your computer > Open System Restore then choose a day prior to your mom's access there is a small little help field on how do I choose a restore point that is worth reading.

Check if system restore is turned on.

Go to the Windows website to watch the video. (1:22)

To turn on system protection for a particular disk
You can't turn on system protection for a disk that's formatted using the FAT or FAT32 file systems.

1. Click to open System. At the start orb, right click 'Computer', click 'Properties'.

2.In the left pane, click System protection. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

3. Under Protection Settings, click the disk, and then click Configure.

4. Do one of the following:

  • To be able to restore system settings and previous versions of files, click Restore system settings and previous versions of files.
  • To be able to only restore previous versions of files, click Only restore previous versions of files.

5. Click OK, and then click OK again.

Let us know if it's was turned on.
