Hi Folks,
Hope someone can help - because I'm baffled at this stage!
Got a BSOD the other day (IRQL...) Ran WhoCrashed and found it was the ntoskrnl file causing bother. Got a fix from the MS website for the blue screen error and all was ok then. (Also, ran memtest86 and all ok). But then another BSOD (can't remember full name but it contained 'Exception')
Everything i checked seemed to relate to drivers. Decided to try Driver Verifier. Created a restore point and rebooted. BSOD again a short time later. Then when it reboots, my laptop says:
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0f: Exiting Intel PXE ROM.
Operating System Not Found
I think this usually points to HDD issue. But I checked the HDD connection etc and all is ok. Ran Seagate HDD diagnostic and everything fine. Can see all the files when I connect it to a second laptop. Shows in BIOS no problem.
I read that you can disable driver verifier using an offline registry utility. Tried this but not 100% sure how to use it so quit! (NT Password and Registry editor)
When I run the W7 recovery, it does not show me Windows 7 in the list of OS. Yet when I run bootrec.exe /fixmbr etc, all passes fine.
Can anyone help?! I'm going out of my mind! Your help is very much appreciated
