I got this laptop for Christmas and it worked fine. Then i ran a Virus Scan (McAfee, It came with it), Then I shutdown the computer and went to sleep. When I got up I turned it back on and it started up, then it loaded the login screen and says "Incorrect Password" and whatnot. So I clicked OK and tried to login with my password and it doesn't work. I tried several other passwords and no password, But nothing worked. I Also tried Safemode, But it does the same thing. I tried Ophcrack, It just says there is no password.

Please, Someone help me solve this problem without having to lose any data.

Welcome to Seven Forums

Offline NT Password & Registry Editor

Download the bootdisk on that page from another computer and burn it to a disk.Use the likes of image burn-poweriso or Nero, burn as an image file, not data.
Run it from your computer (make sure boot from cd is allowed from within your BIOS)
Follow the instructions on the website given above and on the disc.

Unless you can remember your password, remove it later in User Accounts.

When you get back in, suggest you uninstall McAfee paid AV and install Avast free home which is a much lighter weight and less intrusive solution.

Go through Programs and Features and root out other bloatware you don't want. Run msconfig to uncheck all of the Startup Programs except AV and MS entries - the others are freeloaders on your RAM/CPU.

It won't let me boot from "Offline NT Password & Registry Editor".

What did you burn it with?
What did you burn it to?

Make sure you can boot from cd rom,you can do this via your BIOS (usally esc or del at start up)
And its usally in advanced BIOS options, check boot priorty, make sure Boot From CDROM/Disc is in the list.

Do you remember creating a password when you set up your laptop?
???

As a last resort, you can boot from the DVD and do a clean reinstall. Most of the drivers will be in the installer. Other drivers and favorite apps should be on the Support Downloads page for your computer model.

Installing Offline NT Pass & Reg Editor to a CD worked.

I just enabled the Administrator account and logged into it. Then I removed the password for my account.

Thanks Everybody that Helped!

As an optional solution,, I like BartPE or UBCD and Sala Password Recovery.
Boot the disk and run Sala, create a new admin account with no password and your in.
However, about the only thing you can do with Sala is created a new Admin Account and use that to access the system and make your changes. The other features don't seem to work. So, .......

I have tried this in the past and had too many problems with it, but have not revisited it in a very long time.
Offline NT Pass & Reg Editor

Also have not tried Ophcrack in a really long time either.

With my solution I have not needed the others.
