Please Suggest a Safe Website to Download Word 2007

I am running Windows 11 Pro x64 - 25H2 (OS Build 262000.7019

In order to open some email attachments from my retirement community neighbors I see I must update MS Word from Word 2000 to Word 2007.

I don't want to download it from a website that will include bloatware or malware.

You don't need Office 2007, you just need to install the Microsoft Office Compatibility pack.Unfortunately Microsoft have removed it from their download servers.

It's not just downloading it but having a valid key that activates which wasn't required with office 2000. Because of that the only copies you'll find for download will likely be hacked. Not only would that be dangerous but would violate the rules. There are free alternatives to office and they open docx files as well.

As townsbg stated, the best free alternative is another office suite. There are now many to choose from. Free Office is one of the best.

If you are set on a Microsoft product, you can install Microsoft Works 9. It is an older office app, which has a word processor along with a nice calendar and other stuff. It can be updated, and possibly compatibility packs can be installed as well. But it's a lot of trouble to install. Really, your best bet is one of the free office suites.
