Check this for the Microsoft 6to4 Adapter issue. I have no idea about this, but that doesn't look right.

This is fine,, this is the Ethernet Port on the laptop,,,, and it is not plugged in
Code:

Try this,, can you plug in the Cable and see if it will connect then?
Let's eliminate the WIFI. That is, if I am referencing the right PC.

Also, find my hosts file and delete everything in yours and paste mine into it and save it.
This will put it back to default.

Delete all the Microsoft 6to4 Adapter listing you have, if you can. And Reboot.
No I have no idea what that will do. But, you will need to start somewhere, and it appears pretty broken already.

Backup your data and prepare for Nuke and Reload if it comes to that.

Thanks Guys

Thats why I ran the adapter remover-two posts-two screenshots before and after. With the unused adapters removed, the pertinent IP info is revealed.A word of caution about running that 6to4 adapter removal tool (found the link in another post on Networking section from Chev65 I think) It will remove the toredo tunneling adapter, which as I understand is vital to the installation and use of Homegroup.I knew I should have gone manual delete through Device Manager. It actually would have been much faster,as that batch file is very slow.Kind of a non-issue as I'm told Homegroup doesn't play well on a network with XP machines, and I could never make it work anyway. So,back to the original problem-does anyone have info or a link to some info as to why my Lenovo lost track of my XP machines on the network?? I've read many with no solution thus far.Joules-you really think router, when it's only one comp (the Lenovo) that won't see the XP's,but they ALL (7's included) see the Lenovo? I'm home all day with time to test and troubleshoot with anyone willing to put up with me.

Router could be an issue, Can you plug in with cable to the router and function normally?
This would help determine if it is WIFI or LAN related.

I might also try removing all network adapters and reinstall the ones needed.

I am not sure if this was answered, but can that laptop get out to the internet?

The Lenovo has internet access at home and work.Checked the router config and all settings rechecked in all comps. Now the Lenovo sees and shares with the rest except the most important one-the custom desktop(Win7) with MS Office and all the important junk on it!! Getting the "Windows cannot access Chuck-PC" Diagnose program results are:"Windows can not find a computer device named ChuckPC" and "Windows can communicate with the name resolution server but can't find the host name". Funny,I didn't actually change anything WTF  One problem solved(by accident) and one new problem to solve-been a long day folks  Forgot to mention-the custom rig sees and retrieves files from all others.

With every scanner known to man-The DNS server address was picked up when I ran that ipconfig from my work place-part of their security protocol as Reynolds and Reynolds dictates their clients must use Symantec security, and we all know what junk that is.Hence the hop through the remote server as an added security measure,or so they tell me.Have you noticed that the Lenovo is fine and I have a new problem?

Well I know that some companies put certain restrictions on PC's.
Don't know how that would relate to your issues. But, could be a factor.

Also, this is a problem on that computer, not your network.
Jacee points to a very likely suspect.

Which is also why I don't put my personal laptop on my companies network.

I don't know if you have yet or not,,, but
run ipconfig /release and renew on your home network

You may need to do that as you move between work and home
