Possible Memory Related BSOD's

I have built a new computer and was having a few BSOD's before I bought a Radeon R9 270X, but now that I have installed the card and its drivers, the crashes have become more and more common.

I ran a memtest, and it didn't seem to find any errors. I've attached the generated report.

What do you think I should do?

Sorry about that! I had run the tool previously, but I hadn't told it to run with Adminstrator priveleges. This time I checked to make sure that the zip file contained the logs.

It may also be interesting to note that I ran memtest for 4 1/2 hours last night and got no errors.

Time is not a factor here. The question is ... how many continuous passes?

The versatility of the bugcheck codes and the memory references are strongly indicating to a memory failure. Either it is the physical RAM, or any driver is passing bad information to the memory.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

If it does not show any error even after 8 passes are completed, enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

   Information
Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

   Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

   Tip

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Thanks for the reply. It should take roughly the amount of time I'm at work today to make 8 passes. After that, I'll get started with Driver Verifier, if the memory isn't an issue. I'll report back here afterward.

I am actually having the problem that my system won't crash in the nirmal sense while driver verifier is running. The display goes awry. Does this mean it's definitely display drivers, then?

I've also noticed that it doesn't normally crash while I'm playing a game or doing anything graphically intensive. It seems to be either when I'm closing or opening a game or when the computer is idle.

May be. No impossible.

Uninstall your installed version of the display driver.

Then clean up any possible leftover.

Then install version 13.9 WHQL only.

Lately we have seen a lot of issues with the latest 13.12 WHQL AMD Catalyst.

When the driver is properly applied, stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.

Install Service pack 1 and all other windows updates. Otherwise the system will remain vulnerable to threats.

I started having more problems today. Even in safe mode, I was unable to do anything of use before a crash. So, I just did a clean install of Windows 7. From there, I installed drivers one by one. The culprit seems to have been the usb 3.0 drivers shipped with my motherboard.

I ran the GPU stress test that you recommended and didn't see any artifacts or receive any errors. I believe this may have solved it. Thank you for your patience and help, Arc!

Good job!

Update the USB3 Driver, and dont forget to install SP1 this time. ;)
