Hello everyone,

I am new here and I have a question that I can´t find the answer to anywhere on the internet!

Can I set up a home network between my new Windows 7 starter netbook, whose system language is Spanish and my old Windows Vista Home Premium laptop, whose system language is English?

PS I am aware I have to set this up from the Vista machine as you can´t set up a network from Windows 7 starter, just join one.

Have you tried to do it? I can't think of a good reason why it wouldn't work. I say go for it and please post your results so others may benefit from it.

Thanks Petey,

I did try this yesterday, and it didn´t work. It is very difficult to determine what the problem is, as I am only just starting to learn Spanish! I´ll try again later and post my results accurately. I am thinking about changing my Spanish OS to English to get round this problem but I am reluctant to do so as is it a very easy way to learn the language. In case you are wondering, I recently moved from Scotland to Panama, so that is why I have these computers with different OS languages.

Hi, this thread is pretty old, but I have the same problem here described, and I cannot find a fix.

Specifically, when I try to allow access to "Everybody" on a shared folder, it works for another english-OS pc, but not for a spanish Vista OS. The same happens with shared folders on the spansh OS, since there I cannot give access to "Everybody" but to "Todos", and then the english-os pc cannot see the shared folder.

It is only my problem (ie, am I doing something wrong?), or is this an OS limit? And is it possible to sort it?
