Possible to run media centre wirelessly?

I used to run media centre wired and it worked fine. Trying to clean up cables running all over the place Ive tried wirelessly yet its almost to the point that it doesnt work at all as its incredibly slow and takes about a minute to react to controller input.

Im running a TP-LINK TD-W8930N 300Mbps router.

Yes it is possible, I do it with a HDHomerun tunner, using an OTA antenna, directly connected to a Dlink 655 Router. With this I am able to get reasonable wireless performance from a Lenovo T500 Laptop with only infrequent hitches.
