Possible to use SFC in a check or query mode only ?

I know that I can use SFC in an active mode SFC /scannow where it will replace files in an effort to correct problems BUT I would like to just have it run an integrity check instead without it taking actions. Suggestions.

Also another question I see that there is an option for using "chkdsk /p" I tried to look for more information about this function but there is very scant information about it even on MS Tech Net....can you explain how it works. I assume that from what I read it is also just a check and not a repair or replace. correct.

/p? I've never seen that one.

Just a standard chkdsk performs a check only.

Thanks for the tut direction ...still does anyone know more about chkdsk /p? Even the tut here does not mention it but it does exist as a function, at least it did with XP and Vista.

CHKDSK /p and CHKDSK /f - XP Command Line & Recovery console

/p is redundant it would seem. Largely used pre-Vista by the looks of it.
