Possible windows updates causing weird crashing.

Ok so I have a new install of my OS onto my Patriot Pyro SSD. For the windows updates I just did a massive install, 77+ windows updates at one single time plus another 30+ or so the next day. I think I remember some errors while doing those massive updates, I did not look them up or even care about them.

What is currently happening is that while using my computer for browsing and email, JTV ect, this is a fairly high end gaming PC but I am not playing any games currently nor does it crash while under stress, it seemed only while browsing. But what happened was that all of a sudden my youtube video froze from then firefox stopped responding. When I tried to click to another window like windows taskmanager or iTunes those and any other program proceeded to crash and end up in the "blank" program has stopped responding, until eventually my whole OS seemed to crash in the same way. Nothing opened up or even closed. My whole desktop was in the unresponsive state.

Now I think my brother had a similar problem with one program crashing and the proceeding until the OS crashed and forced to restart the PC. He re-installed his OS and did not install updates, he had 0 problems until he installed the updates. Note he is on vista 64 and I am on windows 7 64.

So what I would like to know is because I mass installed updates and had some errors I did not look into that may be my problem?

Instead of reinstalling my OS can i just uninstall all of my updates and proceed to install them a few at a time?

Has anyone seen anything like this before? I haven't in previous installs but then again I had a mechanical HDD so I installed updates slower and not so many at a time. Because my SSD has write and read of 490/520 I just went ahead and did a massive update.

Quite a long read but I appreciate any suggestions and help you guys can offer!

Do you have all the updates installed now? Or still remaining with errors? If yes, please post the details of the error messages that you are getting with windows update. Also suggest, downloading all updates at once is not a good idea, select 10 or fewer and continue till you download them all.

In addition to koolkat77's suggestion, you should fill those specs in the System Specs Tab in your profile.
