They fixed it, so I got my benchmark fix for the night

Also got this from steam, I used 5.1 for the CPU

And a extreme run with a slight gpu OC and cpu@ 4.5

Still milking those points I see Doug Fair play to ya

FYI you can copy the product key down from Firestrike and then install the standalone using that key. It may give you a few more points too

It will, you don't have to lug around steam with it, I think. Good suggestion.

Yup it's what I did. I installed just to get the product key and then removed it but didn't test for a difference in score. Even when Steam is minimised it still renders all the images and flash stuff for the store page n whatnot. So I would think it would be a fairly noticeable difference in the score.

I had it as stand alone, the other night when it wasn't working I switched it to Steam. Then I found out it was futuremark servers causing the problem.

Is that when you were getting the much better scores? Maybe they were just having server problems on that day.

It was higher than my previous 6531, about 6575 I think. Even with steam I managed 6588, so I don't think it is holding me back any. Just for giggles, I will switch back to stand alone and run the same settings. Knowing how benchmarks are it could score lower or higher but I will check it.

The part I have highlighted here showed validating ......... but never validated

No mate not at all, I was just confirming he was using the standalone when he got the higher scores and to try again as they may have sorted the problem that was stopping him from uploading his score

It doesn't look like Steam holds you back in the benchmarks.

This is entirely unscientific, but I ran FireStrike once with Steam and once with the stand-alone on my HTPC (2.9 GHz Pentium Dual Core with Radeon HD 7750). It scored 1854 stand-alone and 1860 with Steam.

...and yes, it was a total slide-show.:shock:

Sorry for the long string of posts...

Bumped my score a little bit, not enough to move up a spot, but it's an increase nonetheless.


My first run with Steam was at stock speed on the GPU so when I made the OC run I got another Steam Achievement.

I see, that is quite the score on test 2. :shock:

The physics test is where mine "falls down." I'm reasonably sure that it's the limited memory bandwidth of my DDR2 RAM. For some reason "wet noodle" and "wildcat's backside" comes to mind. :devil:
