Doug, you mean that game that kept crashing on me so much I uninstalled it, several times?

But in fairness you did get a good few hours gameplay out of the old gal between crashing didn't you Steve. I think you like using the Knife and completed it 200 times?

I believe you guys are referring to Medal of Honor, not BF4. I did rack up some points in BF4, but MOH is the game I probably have over 1000 hours of playing time and globally, in Tier 1 am, I think #3 in knife kills. That has to be my all time favorite, although I will admit I did like BF4, if they would just try to make a game that works. BF3 was not much different for me. Maybe COD and MOH inserted code in my machine that won't allow me to play BF games. :what:

I like MOH too. Overall I rank sp games as cod is the best, moh close, and BF last. MP belongs to BF though.

What does this have to do with firestrike, I blame Paul

Hey sik, do you remember what the bennifit for adding a 3rd card would be? Ups? Downs? Gains? And what your power supply was? I'm just thinking if overkill is worth it or not... I remember you saying a 3rd card doesn't add much. Just wondering how much or how little to be exact...

2nd card - definitely worth the money. 3rd card - overall waste.
It will raise your score on firestrike around 2000, maybe more
In games though, that's where you'll come to regret it. A lot of games don't play well with crossfire and they will scale horribly and in some cases they will run better with just one card. It's great for bragging rights and all that, but I say, save your money and invest in a SLI setup when you can. I have seen the light and SLI works with games much better and scales fantastically in comparison to crossfire. Seriously man, only very few games will you see an improvement. I had fun with those games, but a lot of them actually work better with only two. Having a 3rd card can also greatly impact your overclocking abilities, but not necessarily. I say do what you want man, it's your money, but I don't recommend it.:cry::(

*edit*
About the power supply...I use a corsair RM1000 with an 83 amp single 12v rail. I never had any problems with it, even though those cards are seriously power hungry. The lowest I'd ever see my 12v drop to was 11.8, with only 2 cards it would stay at a rock solid 12. With these two 970's, it hits 11.8 in gaming as well, which is interesting to me since they are supposed to be more energy efficient. I suppose it's my OC.

Agreed former Crossfire 6870 and 7970 set ups 3 cards major waste 2 GPU's good enough and to scale well you have OC one heavy and the 2nd card a light OC and it will scale better for some reason both cards at the same speed have reverse effects so one high one low and it will scale better

I never knew that about the OC scaling with crossfire. I always got better results when I overclocked all three the same. Same when it was just two of them. However, after having both newer Radeon and Geforce cards has made me notice one major thing. Nvidia takes much better care of their customers driver wise. Don't get me wrong, the Radeons are seriously powerful and gaming beasts...hardware wise. But their drivers are horrible...crossfire is almost a waste in comparison with SLI. If you'll notice...crossfire scales fantasticly for benchmarks and the such, but when it comes to gaming...when I had 3, it would scale something like 33-35% on each card, which was basically like just having one, only with the other crossfire issues. I have a great motherboard, so I know it was nothing on the hardware end. With SLI, everything scales around 80-99%, but usually around 95-99%. Whereas crossfire would be anywhere from 33-60% on the same game. If AMD would get off their asses and make better drivers, I could see radeons taking over. It will never happen though...especially with nvidia coming up with all these new features. Did you know the new 900 series cards are ALREADY occulus rift ready? They even have a setting in the control panel for it. Anyways...enough ranting. Have fun everybody! Also...would someone loan me a 6 core i7 so I can take over the leaderboards?:party:

2nd card - definitely worth the money. 3rd card - overall waste.
It will raise your score on firestrike around 2000, maybe more
