Only use IE on some MS sites.

After I got Chrome, FF and Opera just weren't getting used, so finally let them go.

It's all personal preference, none are better than others, it's what you like and feel comfortable with. Well, except for IE, it's just slow. ;)

A second computer benchmarked at 2555 Points for Firefox. I didn't pay much attention to the results, merely gave a shot to "play along". As long as I can get to the forums and the pages load quickly with my lite broadband connection, I'm happy.

That's a better score, as long as it's doing what you need.

I'm severely broadband limited as well. Slow connection :(

Not that it matters that much. According to this my Chrome install is twice as fast as my Firefox, but I can see no real world difference between them and I use Firefox as my browsers.

Yeah you won't see much of a difference if you don't use web applications heavy in JavaScript / HTML5. In some areas Chrome is a lot faster than IE/FF.

It's kind of hard to measure performance on the web because of the broad composition of code in different web sites plus factoring in network bandwidth / latency.

You are right. The benchmarks are really potential. Between variations in bandwidth and variations in coding, I don't see any difference in FF and Chrome speed wise - except Chrome loads faster initially. There is not enough difference to lead me to change to Chrome. I have no trouble the difference in speed with IE. :D

Chrome scores 1000 more points on Linux?

View attachment 67110

My previous score is on the last page.

Are you using the 64-bit Chrome on Linux?

I'm not sure. I downloaded the one for 64-bit Linux systems: google-chrome-unstable_current_amd64.deb

But I'm not sure if the process is 64-bit or how to check that in Linux.

Thats a true 64-bit Browser then. Which also has a 64-bit flash for it (lucky linux).

As far as I know, 64-bit linux operating systems cannot use 32-bit linux applications. Not an expert though so I could be wrong but try to install anything i386 and it will deny it.
