could be. CGA was even before 286. on PC XT which had screaming Intel 8088 cpu running at 4.77 MHz plus optional 8087 math coprocessor)

Hey, I had one of those.

In whatever order I can remember:

- IBM monochrome adapter (no graphics)
- IBM CGA
- Tandy CGA in my flaky 1000
- Tandy EGA
- Tandy VGA

Then I smartened up...

- Trident 4MB
- A couple of Virge S3 cards
- Nvidia MX440 64MB
- An ATI AGP I can't remember the number of
- Radeon 3450 x2 in Xfire
- Radeon 4670 that slays all of the above put together.

Good thing, cuz I ran out of slots.
