Well now I am experiencing yet another problem with Windows 7. I have had multiple problems since installing windows 7 that I believed to be caused by power management. Well today I started experiencing immediate crash/re-boots every time I try to change my power configuration. It is not perpetuating a dump file, but when I check the event viewer I see the error.

We rally need the dmp file but from this description I would say it is your Pinnacle Studio driver. UN-install PS to test

If you wish to have others assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Start your own thread in the appropriate section of the forum and attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
* Briefly describe the problem history and circumstances in the same post. Somebody will attend to your query as soon as possible.

Interestingly enough, I never had any problems prior to today with this specific problem and the crashes that are occurring have not created a dump file for some reason. Maybe it is because the computer did not go to a BSOD.

I will try this. The only problem that I ran into was that the Win + Pause/Break option did not work. I had to use the search bar to find my way.

Well, that did not work. I got the system to crash again by attempting to change the power management to balanced again.

As Karl said below you need to configure your system control panel. See Pix

All it does is turn scroll lock on and off. I have run sfc and no problems were found.

Interesting. I think that I had troubles with CloneCD interfering, although I won't swear to it.

Oh well, one can live without the Win Pause/Break key which simply gets you to system properties. (Control Panel | System)
