Hello,

I am interested in the Nvidia Geforce N470GTX Twin Frozr II.
My current card is an Geforce 9600gt.

I believe my system currently got a 400W power supply.
Do I need to upgrade it? And if so do I need to check anything as in compatibility with my motherboard?

Thank you.

Regards,
Mark

Thinking doesn't help with power supply specs, need to know. Also if it is the stock power supply that came in that Medion computer then it definitely won't be enough for a GTX 470. There is a rather large difference in the power requirements/draw between a 9600 GT and a GTX 470,

Video Card Comparison - GPUReview.com

approximately 95W for the 9600 GT and 21W for the GTX 470.

Okay, thank you.
And my other question? Would it be compatible with my motherboard?

Thanks mate.

EDIT:
Yes it's the stock power supply

It has a PCI-E x16 slot, so the answer would be yes.

No I mean the powersupply, as in voltages? Or can I just hook it up? :)

That is a high end gfx card, you won't be able to use it at 100%, unless you consider an overall system upgrade later.
If I were you I'd go with a GTS450 and keep that 400W PSU. This card would cause a huge difference in the feling as well.
A GTS450 would be pretty much in the same category as your other system parts. Don't correlate to my setup, I have a much stonger cpu than video card. Go for factory speed modells. :D

Thanks for all your replies :)
One's reply just disappeared for some reason (?)

I will get back to you guys with the details of my psu once I get home.

Thanks again.

EDIT: Speedgamer I am taking your advice. I will get a 450 and upgrade my whole system at a later point in time. Thank you for your help, solved.
