Hi,
Not sure what would produce the message besides a bsod error code
But it would seem so unless the wall outlet is shorting out ?

Can't say I've ever really understood the uk's 240v power feeds for all 120v appliances... approach :)

I have never heard of, or seen a power supply of any kind giving such a error code.

Power supplies have no means or methods to set error codes.
When power supplies have a problem they make other hardware set error codes do to a faulty power supply.

It would be helpful if you included what power supply the problem computer has in your (My System Specs).

Could be your power supply has a variable speed fan. You did not specify a psu in your specs.

What I see is a very, very dirty power supply.
what I don't see is the brand name of the power supply.

your power supply appears to be a low budget (no name) power supply.
Your spec say your system was custom build. By who?
You have a very old system and it appears a very old power supply.
I'm as positive as I can be that power supply is not capable of posting a error code.

Now you seen the error code so something posted the error code.
Have you run scans with your security programs?
If so what was the results?

14 amps multiplied by 12 volts equals 168 Watts  If it's several Years old it prolly can't push 150 Watts now.

Do Yourself and Your PC a big favor and get a Name Brand PSU that is rated going by the +12 Volts Amps only.

If you get a PSU now that is suitable for your future, (new PC), needs you could use it in this PC until you are ready to proceed with the new build. A new PSU should be fully backwards compatible but may need a few adaptor cables to fit correctly

If You're not going to be building a New Rig really soon, Now that You have the Power you could wring a lot more power out of the old one by upgrading to a 100W CPU provided You have a good CPU Cooler. I'm "guessing" that a Refurbished CPU isn't really refurbished ? it's just a tested return ?

I looked up the CPUs the MOBO supports http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-ASUS/F1A55-M_LE.html then priced the A8-3850 and Athlon 651(K) "Needs latest BIOS" on Newegg https://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod...iveSearchResult=True&Order=PRICED&PageSize=36
Substantial performance increase going by Passmark scores.

At this time I recommend not doing anything more.
Use your system with the new power supply for a while and see if their are any more problems.

Did you do a basic cleanup of your computer? The computer gods like things clean and neat.
