Power went out

Last week my power went out when I was on the computer and it kind of scrambled everything but, little by little when I kept restarting it, it came back all but IE. It is stuck in basic mode and is not giving me a way to upgrade it. The icon at the top of the page to change it to upgraded version is not there so what do I do?

You could try a System Restore to a date before the Power Outage.

To do that, open Control Panel, select System & then System Protection from the menu on the LH side of the screen, then click on System Restore. This will show you if you have any restore points before the outage that you could try.
