Pre-Win7 Software and the UAC

I have a 3D graphics software (Amabilis 3D Canvas Pro) which runs on one Windows 7 system and not on another system running Windows 7.

After much tinkering, I've discovered the software will run with the UAC turned off and not with it turned on at any level. When the UAC is turned on and I try to initiate the software, I get fail error messages that say that it cannot configure Directx, look for the latest version and/or update the graphics card driver. Turn off the UAC, the messages go away and the software initiates and runs fine.

dxdiag reports all is A-OK and running version 11.
The graphics driver was supplied by the computer manufacturer (Dell) and no updates. AFAIK, all Windows 7 graphics (Aero)features are running fine.

Since I'm the only one using the system, all the permissions have been set for the administrator or me by name

Curiously, the system where the software fails was an upgrade from Vista and the software didn't run with Vista either. The system where the software does run with Windows 7 was an upgrade from XP.

Whatever was the culprit with Vista was carried over with the Windows 7 upgrade.

Thank you,
HankS

Have you tried reinstalling it?
It should install it with admin uac applied from the outset.
You have RT clicked and "Run as Administrator"?

Yes, numerous times. and with the same UAC settings I have installed or re-installed other software with no problems. That setting would be the second highest level.
