Prevent blue confirmation screen popping up when ctrl+alt+delete?

Hi! I'm new here and so I'm terribly sorry if this is in the incorrect place, or if I do something wrong.

Anyway I have two questions I hope someone could help me with...I am absolutely terrible with computers!

1) I have windows 7 and every time I press ctrl+alt+del a blue window pops up that takes up my whole screen and displays various options such as "change user" "change password" "Task Manager" etc.

I just want it to immediately go to task manager every time without having to reconfirm with me!

2) How do I prevent a program from accessing a certain folder when that program is executed? For example if I play Civilization 5 and I want to play without my mods folder...how do I prevent the game from reading that specific folder? (Moving that folder to a new location is out of the question)

Please and thank you for any help/input, have a great day!

Hello Amber, and welcome to Seven Forums. :)

Q1) You would want to press CTRL+Shift+ESC instead to open Task Manager.

Q2) Not sure if possible if that folder is needed and used by the game without causing issues with the game. This question may be better asked in the Gaming forum area instead though.

Hope this helps some,
Shawn

Thank you so much Brink! It works!

However in regards to my second question, the game runs fine without the folder, the mod is just an extra folder that I created. Sometimes I want to test something in my game, and although I COULD move the folder out of my files...it is so time consuming (the folder is 40 gigabytes!!)...it takes me about 15 minutes to relocate it to my desktop!

I'm wondering if there is an easier way to do this since I relocate that folder back and forth a lot, like perhaps put a lock on that folder?

You're most welcome.

I've found a free program called Lock-a-Folder that you might see if it may be able to work for this. It will let you lock the folder to prevent access, then be able to unlock it when you do want to allow access.

Or you could just rename the folder instead of moving it.

Thanks for the replies! I will try lock-a-folder and see how it works!

I can't rename the folder either because the program will still read the folder even if it is renamed.

For example, the "Mod" folder is 40 gigabytes...the "Mod" folder is located inside of the program folder. The program folder is needed to run the game, even if you rename the "Mod" folder- the game will still read it because of its location inside the Program folder.

I hope this makes sense...please this means so much to me =[

Try moving the folder to the desktop again, then make a shortcut and place it in the program folder only when you need to access your mods.
