prevent screen-shutdown when switching user.

Is there a way that i can prevent the computer from turning off the screen while switching user? My screen reacts really slow when it gets turned off, then on again by the computer, so its just turns black for ages.

Welcome to Seven Forums skogs. Sorry, this is normal behaviour when switching User or Logging off. Is you monitor an older one or a CRT?

Thanks for the quick reply My screen is a rather new BENQ 24" LCD. But when its shut down by the computer, it starts searching for other active inputs.

skogs are you sure there is no way to change the auto-search behavior? I'd find it odd that you can't assert a single input somehow.

My wife's monitor also does the input search when turned. It is the way some are built, mine has a setting to set to a specific input when turned on. Check your monitor menu to see if you have a similar one.

I was able to turn off the auto-search function, but it doesnt seem to have helped considerable. Maybe some seconds faster now. So there is no way to modify windows to prevent this from happening?

It does seem that it's part & parcel of logging-off a user, and asserting the new user's prefs & registry et al.

I don't like it myself just because it "turns off" my display, albeit in my case momentarily, and I'm just anal enough to think that's not good for it, but I understand yours is a much deeper annoyance.
