Hi everyone!!

On a hard drive with zeros (using DiskPart clean all), what needs to ne done before installing Windows 7?

Depends how you are installing.

If you are using windows setup.exe from booted installation media, just point at the disk.

If you are using a different apply method, then the target disk needs to be initialized, partitioned and formatted first.

If I use a W7 installation CD, would that use windows setup.exe from booted installation media?

Pardon the ignorance, but I cannot remember all this stuff any more.
