Solved Print Shop Pro alternatives for Win7 x64?

Hey people,

I recall from a long time ago this nifty piece of software that helps you design posters, greeting cards, and banners. Circa early 1990s perhaps? I'm somewhat convinced it was Print Shop Pro, but I could be mistaken.

Anyway, the thing I remember loving about it was that it had so many templates to choose from. For example, if you needed a birthday card, it had a category for that and had dozens of sample birthday card layouts. Pretty much all you had to do was just move the text boxes around and fiddle with the clip art.

Do we have anything like that which works in Win7 x64? Free alternatives are of course extremely welcome.

I'm fairly sure it was Print Shop Pro, yes, but the last time I used it was at college, many older versions ago - v23 now, huh. I think the last version I used had a number in the single digits.

Actually MS Powerpoint has sufficed for creating simple designs, but what I miss most about Print Shop Pro was all those templates especially for non-business oriented designs. I remember cranking out posters for festivals and stuff back in college with this.

Out of the few items mentioned in that article you linked, Scribus sounds the most promising, if overkill. I'll take a look at that, thanks!
