Thanks for that.
Never done a clean Install or a Factory Restore in the 18 months that I have owned the Pc.
Windows 7 came already installed.
I have found a Recovery Disc for Windows 7 that came with the Medion PC so I'll do as you say and give it a whirl.

Just make sure you backup all your documents, photos, etc to external media before hand. Doing a factory restore will wipe everything out and put it back to the way it was the first time you booted it up.

EDIT: Even when its not a Windows problem, starting with a clean slate will often fix it. Sometimes when you uninstall a program or driver, bits get left behind and can mess up a reinstall of that same program. Then the more you try to fix it the worse it gets. Me I can do a clean install with drivers in a couple of hours. I plan ahead and have everything I need on USB thumbdrives. I can remember a time though when it would take me a couple of days to get everything the way I wanted it, and everything was on a stack of Cd's.

Oh Dear!
Now I've got a severe case of the collie-wobbles. Not being familiar with this stuff is daunting to say the least.
Before I bite the bullet I will see if I can take the Epson Printer round to my friend's house and see if it works normally on his system. If medion had supplied me with a cd with the complete Windows 7 on it then I would be more inclined to have a go myself but as I only have a Recovery Disc to work with makes me less confident. I can't risk being without the PC for any length of time.
