printer issue

I have a HP office jet v40 connected to a XP pc. I recently added a W7 lap top to my home network. I have the printer added on the W7 pc, but I can not print to it. Shows items spooling, but nothing prints. I tried updating the drivers, but HP says the W7 has the drivers needed. The lap top is accessing my network thru a wireless router, just FYI. Can you help? Thank you.
