Printer killed wifi?

today I was installing the full version of the software for my printer (HP J6480) so I could edit the text in my scanned document the original driver was the one that win7 automatically downloads and uses and while it was installing the software I looked down at the task bar I noticed that the wifi had a "!" in it ( it worked 2 minutes before that) and since then I've not had Internet
I have tried restoring it 2 days back no success , reinstalling wifi card ,and the built in network troubleshooter with no success
My specs are
Dell inspirion 537s 2gb ram 2.93 intel core 2 duo
Win 7 home 64 bit
Wifi card is a d-link WDA-1320

Could you check if after installing your software there has been a proxy change in the internet settings of your IE? Also try re-installing your network card drivers.

There are no proxies and the wifi card has been reinstalled with no success

Does the WIFI card show up OK in device manager with no yellow ! or red X's? What does the network and sharing center say as far as network access and INTERNET go? Have you tried using system restore to go back before you installed the printer software?

Also when I go to the network and sharing page its not showing that I'm connected to my wifi router yet in the the taskbar wifi icon it says that im connected with limited access

Yes it does show up in device manager

If this is a wireless connection delete your current connection from the list of preferred networks and set it up again. I would also reboot the router. If its a wired connection try swapping cables.

Tried all suggested things and nothing and to answer your question about the yellow ! Or red x it says its ok

Can you log into your routers status page? If yes what does it show?

No I can not log on it

EDIT: actually what you might want to do is connect your PC directly to your cable or DSL modem. If you get a connection then its a problem with the router, if you still can't connect its more likely a problem on the PC.

OK, open an elevated cmd windows, start > all programs > accessories > right click "command prompt" and select run as administrator. Then run ipconfig /release, followed by ipconfig /renew. Then to see what you got run ipconfig /all. ipconfig /? will list all the options. If you don't know what to look for clip and past what you get back here and I'll have a look at it. If you're not getting an IP address from the router I'd probably reset it to defaults and try connecting again.

Still no success with it hard wired to the modem

OK, so your wired and wireless connections don't work? You should probably power cycle your modem after switching the connection to your PC. Sometimes they need a little nudge to recognize a new device.

What does ipconfig /all show for an ip address etc? It's starting to sound like a DNS error. might want to flush DNS > How to flush DNS cache in Windows XP / Vista / 7

That looks OK, there is nothing listed there that I would personally worry about posting. Is that a wireless connection to your router? Did you try the flush DNS?

You might want to try turning your firewall off as a test, especially if its not the built in windows firewall.

The firewall is off and I flushed the dns still nothing and I'm editing my post to show only the wireless
