I am using a HP all in one printer which is working fine in XP. In windows 7 with too much difficulty I installed driver and the software coming with the pack and the windows 7 is identifying it , yet the scanning / printing software not working even after updates from HP.

Which HP printer are you using? I have an HP photosmart C5150 all in one that installed with no issues. I used the drive included in windows 7 buil.d 7100
