Printer usable in programs, but not visible in devices

I installed a printer (HP deskjet 720C) on my windows 7 64bit. in the HP forums is a patch where it says how to install it, for it won't work for this printer for a 64 bit version of windows 7.

After doing this i can use my printer perfectly in for instance MSword, i see the printer, can print with it, change the printing properties but:

If i go to hardware and devices it is not shown there! :shock:

Now i can't change the name, or deinstall it if i have 2 versions of the driver installed.

So, is there a way to make this printer visible in the devices window? Or is there another way to maintain the printers (names, install/de-install etc.)

Thanks, but the printer has no usb possibility, so srial connection only (lpt) and a patch from HP to get it working.

like i said, i can use the printer in word for instance, but not in devices.

I've got this same problem with a different printer... What're the chances that, in the last 4 years, this problem has been solved?
