Printing Problem

I have a Dell laptop running Windows 7 on a network run by a Windows Server 2003 machine. The laptop can see everybody on the network, but cannot print to any printer on the network even though they can be seen by the Windows 7 laptop. There is a Ricoh printer-copier that I am trying to print to. I've installed all the drivers on the laptop and when I try to print, I get a message that the document printed, but it doesn't. I can ping the ip address of the printer. The printer is on the Network and all other computers on the network can print to it. The laptop has tried to use the Ricoh drivers located on the Server and also tried to install the drivers directly on the laptop. The other thing is that when I go to the Server and look for the Windows 7 laptop in Windows Explorer; My Network Places; Entire Network; it is not shown, even though 2 other Windows 7 laptops are. How can I see the network from the laptop and not see the laptop from the Server? The laptop has been added to the Active directory in both the 'User' and 'Computer' areas.

Some ricoh printer/copiers have a password that is required for printing. The configuration of the printer on your machine might have an option for putting the password in a block.
I assume that you have installed the printer with the driver disk from the Ricoh model of printer/scanner/copier.?

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I realize the Ricoh has the box to put in a code and we have done that. The printer queu says that the document has printed, but we get no print. All other computers on the network can print and they are a combination of Windows XP and Windows 7 machines. I'm wondering if there is a setting I am missing on this machine only.

skipudude, check the setup for the printer, there are options for restrictions and passwords for you to be able to print. You have to use the disks that are for your printer/copier to make sure that those options are valid.

Get the model number and then you can go to ricoh and download the proper driver for your machine.

It may be a simple permission setting for the printer. In Printer Properties make sure Everyone has Full Control.
